Something's missing, something's lost
as each day passes I lose hope
That's there's no end to my rope
and wonder at what was the cost
Of the sacrifice of my true self
To win the impossible approval of all
Losing all the qualities that made me who I am.

Heartfelt poetry can point more clearly to Truth than any rational discussion can and, sadly perhaps, trying to respond in any other language outside of more poetry can leave gaps. Rationality distills meaning out of what can be said.
With that caveat....
Finding your true self should have nothing to do with anyone else's approval. You are beautiful as you are, and the truer you are to yourself, it is my firm belief that you will draw to you those you need, not who you think you need. Expectations place veils over our eyes and distort our sight. Find your inner strength, build upon it and hold fast to it, and know that you are loved ... for who you are, not who you are supposed to be.

Bob, that may be the best advice I've ever received. I've read your response every day since you posted and it hangs on my wall. You seem to have made something so complicated to me so simple.Thank-You
Andrew
