this was written with his family's permission to post here...we asked specific permission on the phone w/ one of his family members.
it is with heavy heart that we are posting about the passing of Kid A from an accidental overdose last week.
he would have wanted the folks here he knew over the years to know about his final absence.
we'll be printing out responses and burning the data to dvd along w/ much of his work to send to one of his siblings. we're sure his family would appreciate any anecdotes about the character Kid A was during his time on this site.

What a special person and someone I was so proud to call 'friend'. My heart is absolutely shattered. I'm at a loss for words. I can't stop the tears.
I pray for his family, for you zen, and for all of those here who knew how bright Kid A's star shined.
He was a poet, a writer, he was special, and as long as I live he will never, ever be forgotten.
I loved you Kid A...I always will.

Oh. I am just so very very sorry for all who loved him and cared about him.
I'm at a loss for words, but Kid gave so much to so many people here, and so much of himself if that makes sense. A huge gap wil be left, but I hope everyone can take some strength by knowing that many people here loved him.
Thankou for letting us know zen, and thanks to the kind babbler who let me know..

So sorry for all who loved him - friends and family.
We all lost an amazing writer who took my mind to places it never would have seen without him.

He was a sparkling poet who wrote a sculptural landscape...he liked Radiohead hence the Kid_A. We almost met but for some twisted fate it didn't happen.I shed tears today and tonight..shedding tears is hard to do on these drugs.
I'll never forget him just like I'll never forget Sar.
Thoughts with his family and with you Zen .Love Slinky

Zen is doing as well as can be expected right now, Toph..I know she will appreciate your inquiry.
I only knew KidA from reading his posts here and through Zen's talk of their friendship. He was a very talented person.

he is thought of daily and missed ever so much w/ the smallest of things bringing about reminders of his ways.
he loved deeply and shared these (often mis)adventures in love. sending support and lending an ear, being his friend wasn't easy but it certainly was never boring! he tested the very limits of so many things in order to feel something other than the painful depression he lived w/ on and off for as long as he could remember.
there's so much of him scattered netwise that is almost comforting in a way...yet pain comes anew w/ each discovery.
he was talented beyond his years. his recklessness was his way of living through the pain...living w/ his disease(s)/disorder(s).
he fought the uphill battle of one underinsured in this great USA. he tried so hard for so many years depsite the challenges each new state, country, insurance plan brought his way. he tried.
it isn't easy letting go of someone who was a close friend. that he was living out on the coast two years ago and sharing his fav. movies and music seems like only yesterday and then sometimes like eons ago. it was great to share meals. he ate well while in CA and his company was that of a great friend who understood w/o having to explain.
it would be wonderful if friendship alone could help keep someone alive...I tried...knowing it wasn't possible yet it was important to remain connected through the thick and thin.
the medications, the doctors, the hospitals, the ambulances, the police, the mental health hotlines, the psychologists and therapists, sites like this one and so many other people saw his illnesses up close and personal...we all tried...we didn't fail him...he fell victim to self medicating and unfortunately the drug(s) he chose ended up killing him.
he got to see City Lights in SF and purchase some book that he raved about is one cherished memory...he took the dog to the beach at sunsets and recalled that as one of his favourite things from the time he spent living in CA.
those are the memories that keep a smile going depite the tears flowing.
RIP dear Kid A....may you find peace w/ your mother and w/ SAR and w/ all those you loved who went before.
this is but a tiny portion of the wild and wonderful yet pained and torture filled life you led. sorry to not do your life more justice w/ words here.
your friend from way back when and right until the end = (

Hi, everyone,
Zen, thanks for letting us know. You're right about talented, I remember him as intelligent, articulate, and passionate. One poem he posted:
Immaculate Seizure. (warning: profane language).
http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/write/20040320/msgs/358107.htmlI'm sorry he didn't keep posting at Babble, but I'm pleased he stayed connected with Babblers. And I'm sad the mental health system didn't have more to offer him.
