I can't find any evidence of liver problems in Pubmed or the drug monograph. It doesn't seem to be a concern.

Rarely, hepatitis or full liver failure can arise from MDMA (Ecstacy) use. That's thought to be linked to malignant hyperthermia (which itself can be fatal), but that's not proven. Liver problems can crop up at any time, not necessarily on first use. Every hit is a risk, in other words.
