Any Natural Alternaties to Prescribed Meds

Posted by SwtPch46 on March 13, 2006, at 19:23:04

Hi,
I am totally new to this site, and just happened to stumble onto it while researching natural alternatives to my synthetic meds.: Effexor XR, Xanax, & Geodon. So i thought i would join ya'll and see what the sites all about. I am on 225mg of Effexor, but as high as 375mg., the worst side effects for me are: sweating, insomnia, dry mouth - so i carry a glass of water literally everywhere i go, decrease in libido and still have anxiety. I take a 2mg Xanax XR in am, an 80mg. Geodon at night, Provigil 100mg-200mg to get me up in the am and Seroquel 50-100mg to knock me out to sleep at night. I have alot of trouble with racing thoughts which makes it almost impossible to sleep. Does anybody out there relate to what i'm experiencing? I have been on my meds over 3 yrs. now, although i'm better than i was i can't help but wonder are there natural herbal replacements. If anybody knows of some credible sights on the matter, please post them for me.
On the personal side, i'm a divorced mother of 2 happily married girls and 1 grandson. I do have an immediate support room mate/friend that has been there alot for me. Anxiously awaiting any replys to help in my research.
Thanks,

Hi & welcome
You might like to post your query on the 'alternative' board or the plain 'psycho babble' board as more people pass by (definately the later which has lots of med queries) I don't know about the other one.
Anyway hope you find some answers I'm afraid I have nothing to contribute as I just keep taking the tabs!!
