Hi all,
i'm new to the site (obviously) and I'm so scared. I'm currently in my second major bout of depression and it's ruining my relationships. My boyf has pretty much given up on me because I've become so bad tempered and demanding and melodramatic. Does anyone know any good coping techniques and or how to convince my man to hang around til the meds kick in?
Thanks
Chick

Mental illness can be super hard on relationships of all sorts. Tell him that you need his support, and that you're trying, but it's hard. It's not your fault, and he needs to understand that. There are some people who really don't know how to deal with a partner's depression. Maybe you could get him some literature on the subject (pamphlets, books, web pages?).
Hopefully he will decide to be there for you, if he is strong enough (some people are not). Maybe understanding will give him strength?
Caring about someone who is depressed is just about as hard as depression itself...it's a helpless feeling.
hugs,
cloudyps. welcome to babble!
