Hello everyone,
I have stumbled across this site a few times, googling searches for another board I am a member of. Also, some queries pointed me to a Dr Bob page directly.
Today, doing some research, I found myself here again, so I've decided the universe intended this to be. I registered.
I am after all, essentially a "walking clinical trial" for anti-depressants, anxiolytics, and ADHD medications of all stripes & dosages. As this board is specific to psychiatric issues & medications, I have ONE opening question, which is the same as I posed on the other "medically related" board I am on:
Why does a board specific to psychiatric and mental health issues have a spell checker that does NOT recognize the correct spelling of "anxiolytic", a common medical term, but pounces on simple commonly misspelled words, as in "recognise" (recognize)....
It seems to me there out to be a basic medical spell checker available SOMEWHERE. It would save me endless hours I've spent going to dictionary.com or wikipedia, only to find out I was right in the first place... or is it some kind of psycho-stress-test?

Hello! Welcome.
I don't know the answer to your question, but I hope you find it.

Hi Fallingwaters,
I rarely come to the newbie board, but saw your posting name and it reminded me of Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater and so I read it.
I used to be an administrative assistant in a health program and my computer had Steadman's Spellcheck. The CD isn't cheap, but there is a freeonlin look up. Here is a link:
Hope it helps you and of course, welcome to Babble.

The "check spelling" box here uses Merriam-Webster, which does recognise "anxiolytic":
