Hi! Looking for feedback on, 'Ixel',(Milnacipran)

Posted by YOGI BRONX on November 26, 2008, at 12:28:34

Greetings. I discovered this quirky board in a search for forums on, "Ixel", (Milnacipran).

I am a sexagenarian male resident in the U.S. with lifelong Major Depressive Disorder. I have been prescribed all the medicinal remedies and found success with mega-dose Paxil, and, later, regular dose Lexapro, but at the cost of neutering and chronic fatigue.

For years I have been waiting for Milnacipran to be approved by the FDA. When they stalled out last month, I finally took the initiative to order it from Europe.

The first day that I took it, I noticed a welcome increased energy. However, that night, after taking the second daily 25 mg. dose, I experienced terrible dysuria. Just getting out enough urine so that I didn't hurt required kneeling on all fours over the shower drain.

I would like to hear about others experience with this medication, and, particularly, if they have experienced the side effect that I described and how they have dealt with it.

I have read that others have had success with, "Flomax". Does anyone know of an OTC remedy for dysuria?

Thanks.

Cordially,
YOGI

Hi - so sorry nobody answered your post.

The Newbies Board isn't the most 'high traffic' board.

I'd suggest you post on Medication Board if you haven't already.

Way more people go there & there's alot of knowledge & experience there.

Best of luck Kath
