I took my first 30mg dose of cymbalta this evening. I am writing this post because I am feeling quite strange. I feel a tingling sensation in my head, and I feel a bit dizzy. At the same time, it feels like my heart-rate has increased, and I might feel a little naseaus.
In addition to taking the cymbalta, I smoked some marijuana. The marijuana alone, however, never makes me feel this way.
If you have experienced feelings like this, your first few times taking cymbalta, please share your experience with me. I was told this drug is not mood-altering, but there is definitely something going on with me, I feel, neurologically.
Thanks

Welcome, John. I smoked while on Cymbalta and noticed similar effects, most unnerving. I thought it was what I smoked, but it didn't feel right. The med on its own does not make me feel that way at all; only if I have smoked as well.
I guess I did lots of home experiements before deciding not to drink and smoke at all. All the experiments failed. They failed to make me feel better at the time, and they succeeded in making me feel much worse for days afterwards.Taking the non-prescribed drugs out of my regime has helped me immensely. It's hard to get to sleep, but I wake up feeling pretty good, and my teeth don't wear those cute, fuzzy little sweaters.
Nice to meet you, John. I look forward to seeing your posts here. Take care,
ClearSkies

> ThanksI too had a strange reaction. I am a long-time user of Cymbalta. I take 90mg/day. Last night was the first time in about 8 years that I smoked pot. I hit the pipe only 4 times. My legs, hands and head were turning numb and about 20 minutes later I had to have help standing up and walking. I was sweating profusley and my breathing was fast and shallow. I not only got nausea but I actually threw up a little bit. After the sweating stopped, I was able to enjoy the high but then it started all over again: numbness, dizzyness, sweating and nausea and finally, euphoria. This cycle of events happened about 4 times in a row. My heart rate was a little faster than normal, 95 bpm, my blood pressure was 106/60. I've smoked a good amount of pot in my time but this was the first time anything like this has ever happened to me.
