I saw a post on social and someone mentioned what would happen if a country had a female prime minister AND president.....well there is one country in the world which has (or had)...
and that is Finland. For about three years, Finland had a Finnish PM AND President. Great huh? The PM quit amidst scandel, but hey. The president (Tarja Halonen), is still in power.
And I have to say, Finland is a very VERY fair country. Such a fanatastic welfare state system - free college, free healthcare, free (nearly!) dental care, fantastic materity leave benefits, childcare etc etc. and the home to Nokia, Saunas and paper products.
Lets move there!
(I might be abit biased because my mother lives there!!)

OMG! First, let me say that my heritage is, in part, Finnish.
Now let me say that when I first read your subject line, I thought you were going to make some statement about women leaders and being affected by PMS!!!!!
Read more carefully, gg!

Hi Meri-Tuuli,
I thought you meant PMS, too.
Finland is a very fair country. I like it's social structure. I like saunas, too.
A country that (even briefly) had a female president and prime minister is a country that doesn't go by the old boy school.
I don't know if I can move there, though. I refuse to be an ignorant American and expect them to speak English. Does Berlitz teach Finnish?Poet

D'oh!!!!
Yeah I see what you mean about the PMs.....ah well.
Hmmm....Berlitz does teach Finnish I believe, but don't worry, everyone speaks perfect English. They get taught it from the age of seven. Also all programmes that are imported from US/UK only get subtitled.....also they have all these egalitarian rules about sitting exams in your native tongue and formal complaining etc.
Hey I saw a link once about an American couple who moved there.....http://virtual.finland.fi/netcomm/news/showarticle.asp?intNWSAID=36458
Interesting!!
I secretly (i say that because my boyfriend doesn't know, but my friends do) really want to move there. I have Finnish nationality (and British) so there's nothing stopping me......
hehehehe.

A yes, the UK was such a nice peaceful place under the rule of Margaret Thatcher... (We don't have a president remember, we have a Prime Minister and a Monarch)
