Some program said the average New Yorker is captured on camera 75 times a day. Those in London-- an average of 300 time per day...
They discussed how computer programs are using facial mapping to identify individuals...
How bar coding and eventually check out lanes will become obsolete in retail with the use of little chips about the size of a pin head, which will have the capability to record your name, how much you paid and where you purchased from...
So... if a man is wearing his wife's panties with this nearly undetectable chip sewn into it and a scanner is pointed at him, he's busted???!!!
By the end of the show, I was feeling pretty paranoid!

Thanks for letting me poke fun at the example you gave, ct. The increasing use of technology for security and commercial reasons has both up sides and down sides. It is no laughing matter that personal privacy is on the wane. It should matter to those of us with emotional problems just who knows that information about us and whether they share it with others.

I would think it would be beneficial to those of us with emotional problems if "they" knew the baggage others carry around.
We might look pretty normal. At least *we're* getting help. And I'd be willing to bet we're pretty low on the liar and cheat scale.

>As long as it is baggage about you and me that they are entitled to and that they guard with their life.

Don't you think it's headed toward controlling us all eventually, in the name of the common good?

Kinda like putting cameras in everyone's showers to catch the soap thief.

Paperless money, inserting microchips under the skin, traffic tickets from cameras, the ability to know where goods were, when, how, at what cost, and by whom goods were purchased, cameras being everywhere, etc. Aren't we giving away too much power?
