This is a strange question. But have any other women noticed an increase in PMS while on Effexor? Also I've been on Effexor a little over two months. Each month my period has gotten later. For 6 years it's always been to same. Has anyone else noticed anything similar?

Hi napaba.
I think you are probably looking for the medication board, Psycho-Babble. This site has several boards and you happened across the board devoted to discussion of psychology and therapy. I took the liberty of redirecting your post to the medication board. You can follow the links at the top of the page, or go directly to your post at:

Hope that helps. :)

Hi, since I have gained weight and went on psych meds- my periods have been all messed up. I did notice though, when I started on Effexor, they got normal, BUT, then disappeared. As far as PMS, I never got it that bad. I would get depressed, and my *boobs* lol would hurt like hell. I think my PMS and period problem is very much affected by my moods! Your body may just be reacting to the new med, it's still only been a little over 8 weeks, and maybe as time goes on your periods will get back on track and the PMS will get better. Effexor works on 3 neurotransmitters and hopefully a lot will shoot out the PMS you are experiencing. I hope so. I truly believe that some of these meds mess with Aunt flow from the Redlands.
*embarrassing* but I hoped this helped?
All the best, Kristen
