Well, the infamous deposition is over

Posted by judy1 on April 6, 2003, at 18:06:58

just wanted to let the people who were so supportive of me know that my deposition was on friday, so it's done. i was amazed at the amount of stress i put myself through- i wasn't eating or sleeping, i started having asthma attacks for the first time in 15 years!- the whole mind-body connection is incredible to me. it only lasted an hour and a half, and apparently (the good news) is this guy will settle for my policy limit ($100,000) and then go after his own insurance with its $250,000 limit. my attorney tried up to the last minute before the deposition to have my insurance pay and settle, but they wouldn't because he has not submitted any medical records yet (and i understand no insurance co. would cut a check w/o seeing medical proof that he needs surgery). it turns out this guy is an insurance broker who makes half a million a year, which begs the question why would he mess around with a relatively minor car accident. i guess there's a lot of greedy people in this world. sorry i haven't been around to be supportive, i've just been really withdrawn. my lawyer said it should all be over in a month and then i'll feel like i can breathe again. take care all, judy

I'm sure you're literally breathing easier now that this is resolved.

That's great Judy.

And this is fuel for my magical thinking. :) Just last night I was contemplating how long it has been since you had posted. And I was hoping you were ok.

Thank you both:-) (nm)

Judy, I'm so glad it is done, and that the guy will settle. I am sure you can't wait to put this all behind you.

Yep, there are plenty of greedy people out there. Sorry you had to be targetted by one!

I can imagine the stress must have been extreme. I hope you can recover now.
