Wellbutrin sr side effects

Posted by sac on October 5, 2003, at 16:56:50

Has anyone else had problems tolerating the anxiety with Wellbutrin sr? I am trying to get to 100 mg but the anxiety is so bad. I did not have this same problem on the generic bupropion but apparently the seizure risk is less on the Wellbutrin sr and that is why my doctor prefers it. Also, I am very irritable on this, does this go away? I am BPII and also on depakote but need an antidepressant as well. Thanks.

I started taking Wellbutrin to stop smoking..the usual small dose. Now, as disgnosed with severe depression, I am on 400mg daily. Yes, in the beginning of each dose change, I did get jittery, but it passed within a week or two. I don't remember exactly how long it took, but it did go away. The bladder thing is a problem for me, but drinking 24+ ounces of water, in addition to the other liquids I have every day, does help.
Good luck.

Sorry if it's confusing here, but the board for medication-related issues is Psycho-Babble. Here's a link:
