This is an article about BP - hilarious, I almost laughed aloud... Did you know there's a theory that we congregate together because we fell more comfortable with those like us, therefore we are actually limiting the gene pool for Our Type???? Hahahahahahahahahaha..... okay. Yes, and I suppose if we follow THAT line of thinking then Beautiful People are never friends with Ugly People either, unless the Ugly People surgically change into Beautiful People, in which case, All the "Beautiful" people can have babies with the Ugly ones, and guess what???? Nature OUTS so what'm I trying to say? I'm manic that's what.
Good thing I've had my kids.
Poor things, According to that author....\
What a sucky place to be, this civilization.
I hope everybody realizes I'm only being sarcastic, and crazily manic and I gotta do it or I'll be really really really depressed again............

is that, I personally believe that everyone has some form of mental "illness" AND some are simply better at coping with theirs or hiding it, keeping it under wraps, than others. THAT'S ALL. THE MENTALLY ILL ARE THE HONEST ONES.
Don't know if this is a trigger post or not, now I'm nervous about doing that.

Heh heh, I suppose that last bit is supposed to be an unintended consequence. I thought we were supposed to dig out people with complementary personality disorders - like narcissistic, sadistic, anti-social and so on...

Holey crap. If I believed everything I read about BPD and so on I would just have to go ahead and kill myself now to protect the rest of the human race from me.
CRAP CRAP CRAP
Peoples can be so judgemental and just plain mean. Intentional sometimes and other times I think they must just be so stupid that they don't realise the hurt that their words cause others.
How is your manic going?
I am bout due for another methinks...:-)
:-)
I'll try to summon one...

Calmed down a bit, thanks.
Try not to work on it, you're much better off without it, don't you think? I think I am. Much more stable emotionally when I'm not manic, ALTHOUGH I have to say I'm not as productive either. Hmm. I don't know if productive is actually the right word. More like, UP.In response to what you said about people hurting people, in the clinical mind that's not even an issue, which is why articles like this blow me away so much. It shows the scientific mind at work with the humanity left behind, WAY Behind.

it's still not what I consider the best of humanity. Anybody understand what I mean? Probably not. Maybe I'm still up there in la-la land.

A prime example here is work that was done on innateness v's experience when it comes to intelligence. They found that yellow people were smartest then white people then black people. They ended up concluding something like educating the 'stupid' was all a waste of time.
That was done in the name of science, but it was hateful nonetheless.
Turns out now that no way were their conclusions warranted based on the evidence.
Turns out that that happens an awful lot in science.
When that happens then you can be remembered for having said something pleasant but wrong or hateful and wrong.
If you bear in mind that future evidence may well go the other way then what you say says more about you than the state of the world.
There is indeed room for humanity in science.
Some people just forget that.

I mean it is not the facts that are hateful or hurtful - it is the INTERPRETATION of the facts.
There can be more or less hateful or hurtful ways of DESCRIBING the facts as well though.
It seems to me that hatefulness / hurtfulness is NEVER justified. Not in science nor anywhere else.
It is our INTERPRETATIONS and LENSES through which we view the world that can be hateful / hurtful. But that is an artifact of us humans viewing the world from a perspective / interpretation.
So we always have the choice.
When hateful / hurtful things are supposedly justified by science - well, that lies on a misunderstanding of science and the contribution of the human mind (interpretation and perspectives) in scientific inquirey.
I believe that scientists have more of an obligation to be kind and fair in their interpretations and perspectives than others for the simple reason that others consider them authoratitive. Even though when it comes to perspectives and interpretations science is not authoratative at all. To say that it is is to ask science to do more than it can..
Just my 2c worth :-)
