I need disability income until I'm well enough to function again and hold a job. So far I have made one visit to the social security office. I signed about 10 release forms so SS can research my medical history. They scheduled a meeting at their office for August 9th and gave me several forms to complete. These forms ask for my medical and employment history for the past 15 years. I am apparently a sick puppy. I can't hold a job. I get angry and very verbal when things don't make sense to me or when someone is being self serving and hurting another person. I wouldn't hurt a fly but I'm told that I scare people sometimes because I am so passionate about my beliefs. Effexor XR seems to help but I drift back into the same behaviour eventually. This has been going on for years. I can't sleep and I dwell on things that upset me for weeks. I get so preoccupied that I forget where I am. Once I drove into the path of a tractor trailer and was hit. My brain was bruised and I suffered psychotic episodes for weeks. I was forced to resign from my job in law enforcement or lose my certification. They probably should have retired me on disability. Please tell me what to expect and any more advice about how to file a successful claim the first time. This forum has been a blessing so far. Thanks to everyone!
