I get to see my T. after 2 weeks!!!

Posted by LadyBug on February 8, 2006, at 11:20:05

My T has been on a cruise so I haven't seen her for 2 weeks. I missed her but knew she'd be back! I had a wild dream about her last weekend. In my dream a guy and his wife approached me and told me she had decided to stay out of the country for a few years and was quitting her practice. She had left him a voice mail to tell him to contact her clients and he was to see them if they would choose too. I was completly devastated and wondered if it was really true or if I could somehow contact her. I thought she didn't really care about me or she wouldn't do this to me.
In real life I do have abandonment and seperation issues. When I found out she was leaving my heart sunk. I was sad. The night before she left I saw her and gave her a small gold heart pendant to take with her on her cruise. Like taking part of me with her, my heart especially was the good part. It was just the heart, not the chain. she took it to London with her a few years ago too.
I've thought about calling her this week to say I'm glad she's back and I can't wait to see her, but I thought I'd try and be good and not bother her. Well, she called me this morning and left me a message. THAT MADE MY DAY!!! I will call her back as soon as I can, I'm at work so using the phone isn't that easy for me. Getting on line isn't too bad, but we have a lot going on at work right now, so I've been busy!
I'm sooooo excited to see her. I have her picture in my purse. And I have her picture on my home computer. I love looking at it and I'm so glad she gave me permission to take her picture for this very reason.
She is just awesome! I'm not always in a good place, but after 9 years of seeing her, we have such a strong connection and we can talk about anything and everything. We are really close, and the boundaries are really strick. I will admit the growth and the healing I've done with her help. It's been hard and painful, but I feel pretty good about where I am. I may not feel really good all the time, but I've made a lot of progress.
I can't wait till tomorrow!!

That was so nice of her! I understand all of what you wrote. I dont see my T until the end of the month and its very hard. It makes me wonder tho...do those of us who are with our T's long-term, for several years, have a special connection with them? I mean even for a therapeutic relationship we must have to somehow 'click' with our T's, and they with us, in order to stay together so long. Maybe I am just looking for comfort by thinking us 'long-termers' have a special places in our T's hearts! I hope so! Hope you have a great session tomorrow!
