My T says my emotions have been labile- that is such a GROSS word to use, YUCK.
(I'm referring to female anatomy in case you are like me and don't get stuff lotsa times)
I dunno where they came up with that word.
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!
I am so seriously grossed out.

I am not sure what female part you are talking about but I know that libile means "changing" or "unstabil"
I guess I don't get it, LOL Can you explain it more and what is so gross? I can be dense sometimes! ;-)

Yeh, labile is unstable. But it really is such a yuck word. You'd think they'd just say unstable. Or even just say you're up and down. I'm sure there must be some sort of Freudian joke in the fact that a bunch of shrinks came up with that word.
My last shrink said I had psychomotor retardation (ie I don't move much). What a crap label to put on someone. I already think I'm a piece of sh*t. Don't need a retarded label added to the pile.

labile = reactive or occurs easily or quickly (we used it a lot in chemistry to describe reactions)
labia = completely unrelated. i promise. ;p

Labile - from Latin labi - to slip
Labia - from Latin labium, labrum - lip
Latin should have come up with more, different words, huh? But I guess there is only one letter difference in English between "slip" and "lip", but they are pretty different in meaning.
