Whoa- this is so cool!
I wish I could participate in this study.

it's in the NYTimes magazine this morning, and is called 'My Pain, My Brain"Wouldn't it be fantastic to be able to determine how to modulate the limbic and cortical circuits to affect one's depression, mania, addiction etc.? If only fMRI weren't so expensive, I think it has a lot of promise.

Thanks for posting that, llrrrpp.
When I was in psychoanalysis, it always seemed to me that feedback from a brain scan while I was lying on the couch would be very helpful. Maybe it could tell things like, “You're repressing something now,” or “You're avoiding a scary topic,” or “That's what openness & acceptance is like.”
I'm glad to see that someone is finally doing that research. Alas, it isn't me. If this technique existed 15 years ago… Oh well.
This is the end of the thread.
