1st test in 18 years, and yippee ! Now I can beat my T at his own game! LOL Hey just because my T has a PHD, doesn't mean he is smarter than anyone else, right? LOL

way to go!
Most PhD's are dumber than dirt. You can beat him even without the class.
AND HE CAN GO STRAIGHT TO HELL! (sorry)

I didn't mean to disparage all Ph.Ds, it was meant to be a joke - one that I perhaps felt too comfortable making because (1) I am a Ph.D. and (2) Yes, I am dumber than dirt.
Again, to me, people of all educational levels are equally as smart.
But I promise you, there are some Ph.D.'s out there who read that and though "Boy, she's got that right".
Again, please accept my apology.

Congrats on the A
That's fantastic. I doubt your T would have gotten an A.Maddie, should I give up on the whole PhD thing? I don't want to lose what precious neurons are still working (all 3 of them).
P.s. it's especially hard to get an A on a psych test, because psychologists make tricky tests for a living. It's not so hard to get a B though, which is why so many athletes think psychology will be a good safe major for them as they concentrate on their bodies rather than their minds. congratulations again. -llrrrpp

No it's only a semi-serious question. I'm actively collecting data, and I have a new fellowship, and I think the dissertation thing is going to happen one way or another. BUT it is taking me longer than I want. And I'm not sure if my study is going to work out (will I reject the null hypothesis? I'm too scared to start data analysis yet) But, at least the data collection is trucking along. A lot of it is because I've been kinda incapacitated by the big Depression. I'm in my 5th year. I wanted to finish this summer, but I think I'm going to be about 6 months later than that. (but hey! I have money now, to pay for the extravagant luxury of my 22nd consecutive year in school. I'm kinda burned out. (Can you tell?) I contemplate taking a leave of absence, but I don't know what I'd do with myself. At least if I go to work everyday I see lots of people. people are a good antidepressant. They force one to smile and interact.

Yeah, and i missed the trick questions too, and she said she didn't have any. HA! I just hate it when you have the right answer first, then you change it because you over analize the question. HMMMM> I wonder what that says about me! LOL

Yeah I am sorry. It just kind of slipped out. I think a lot of people are intimidated by advanced degrees.
Heaven knows that just about every physician, psychologists etc..office you go into has their diplomas plastered all over the wall as if to say "I am the authority here, what I say goes". To me, it very loudly says, "your opinion means less than mine".
Well, especially in psychiatry, where there is a lot of stumbling about in the dark, that might not necessarily be true. I think the client's opinion has a valuable place in the therapeutic frame.
I was just trying to remind happyflower of that.
Also, I don't take my degree too seriously, one thing I have noticed is that when I do something REALLY stupid, someone is always there to say "And she has her Ph.D."
