Hi llurpsie,

I’m sorry to hear how unwell you’ve been feeling lately. You’ve made some good choices to try and keep yourself safe. Thank you for keeping our llurpsie safe.

I’m glad you’re setting up a safe place. Mine has been so valuable to me – priceless. It truly is my safe little nest. I’ve spent a lot of time there lately. The more you use it, the stronger it becomes. Please do take great care to only keep safe things in your safe place. Also, I know that on some very bad days, even my safe place needs extra special safety features. I hang up blankets around me to close the walls in. Don’t be afraid to do stuff like that if you need added safety. It’s not silly – you can make your safe place to be whatever you need it to be.

And having a soft toy to cuddle and clutch can make such a big difference.

Keep exploring ways to soothe and comfort yourself. Colouring is good. Reading kids books, blowing bubbles in the sunshine, talking kindly and gently to yourself. There are lots and lots of things you can try. It’s just a matter of letting yourself try them. Very important to build up your soothing toolkit.

Take good care of you.
