Puppy therapy

Posted by Dinah on August 29, 2007, at 20:23:10

It may beat therapist therapy. For the first time in a long time, I'm really not wanting to go to therapy. I don't want to be away from the puppy that long. And I laughed harder than I've laughed in ages today while I played fetch in the back yard (I did most of the fetching) and got my face covered in puppy kisses. Then of course all my other dogs had to outdo him so I'm covered head to toe in dogs.

It's going to be really good for my obese dog and obese me.

Hi Dinah,

I too just got a pup--a 12 week old Greyhound rescue. I'm not seeing my therapist anymore but if I were I think I would tend to have to agree with you! I think the focus is so on the pup and off our own troubles that it really is therapeutic.

Glad you're having fun with your new fambly member!

Rigby

Congratulations on yours too! I've had sighthounds and they are delightful.

It really is the ultimate distraction. He's keeping my body busy and my mind busy.

It makes me wonder how much I'm just plain everyday ordinary unhappy.

He really is.

And not at all dominant too! Without being at all scared or shy.

Just my speed. :)

If you don't have access to puppies, then you can see when my 6 year-old Leyna was a pup here:
http://www.thefineline.org/halosheps/

Or, even better, follow the link on that page for "Puppies, the Movie" or see it here:

Make sure you catch the end. Too much fun!
