Here is a fascinating presentation on body dysmorphic disorder
http://asaps.omnibooksonline.com/data/papers/614.pdf
by the noted rhinoplasty surgeon Dr Mark Constantian
Some have criticized how he uses patient histories in this presentation, presumably without their permission (it's hard to imagine they would have approved of how he used their information).
Particularly interesting for me is the woman who drew letters on her nose to explain her nasal geometry.

Mmm... that's disappointing. I was hoping for some lively and stimulating discussion on BDD and rhinoplasty, but seems I'm the only one on here who finds this topic interesting. Oh well, I'll just discuss it amongst myself. I'm used to having discussions with myself, seeing how I have no social life and all. So here goes:
So Jamal, don't you think it's a bit unethical for Constantian to use patient histories in this way?

Yes, I do think it's unethical.
Personally, I think some of his noses look a bit done. The one woman in that presentation - her tip really is a bit pinched. I think it is understandable that she was unhappy with the result.
I laughed seeing the guy who Constantian asked to send photos, so the guy sent naked pics of himself! LOL!

Huh!?! You must be joking! Those noses were great rhinoplasty outcomes! Methinks Jamal protests too much! He is projecting his own BDD!

No, dumbass! The woman on p.90. Look at her profile view. That tip is pinched, period. Possibly might one day collapse due to lifelong scar contracture, like what happened with Michael Jackson.
The woman on p.53 - wow!
Yah, I found the woman on p. 107 interesting, LOL! "I didn't think it was too much to ask to have my nose in the center of my face... I guess I overestimated your ability."
I can only imagine Constantian's facial expression when hearing this...
This is the end of the thread.
