Hi, fellow babblers!
I've been in perfect health all of my life. On Mother's Day, I ended up in emergency (pain in stomach, throwing up, etc, etc.....and blood; won't go into the gory details).
They did a colonoscopy a few days later....it has been 3 weeks, and i still feel nauseous, exhausted, no appetite and pain in the stomach; going to doctor tomorrow.
Oh, I have ischemic colitis (meaning blood doesn't get to where it is supposed to go); I figure anytime blood doesn't get to a body part---that is cause for alarm! LOL
Still have my sense of humor though!
Love to all; Sassy
Wish i could get rid of the nausea; sucking on ginger and drinking ginger ale doesn't help; any ideas?

I'm sorry. :(
You might try posting on the health board, Pschobabble Health, with your questions about nausea remedies. If you'd like, I could redirect your post there.
I do know what you mean about bodies betraying. My father used to say that life ended at forty. And I took him very literally and was scared he'd actually keep over right after his fortieth birthday.
But now I understand. At just about forty, I needed bifocals. Then diabetes, kidney stones, and now vertigo. Added to my already impressive resume of emotional dysregulation, IBS, and migraines, it gets overwhelming sometimes. I can't remember the last time I felt really well.
What do they say about the colitis? Is it easily treatable?

Dr. Bob would probably prefer that health related responses be kept on the Health Board.

Hi, (((Dinah))) Thank you for your response...and the re-direct! i realized afterwards it should have gone to the "health" board.
There really isn't anything they can do to prevent another "attack"---and they don't know what causes it; arrrgghhhhh....
To reach age 61 (how CAN this be; I still feel and act 18!), and just now have a health concern; I do feel pretty good that it took this long!
I have no osteoporosis, and low blood pressure
AND people think I am 40......thank heavens for the genetic fairy!
hugs, Sassy

OK!! finallly i can pass this not so wise..wisdom along.
when i was pregnant i was SOOOOO nauseous...i think i heard EVERY rememdy there was so hang on:Ginger ale (which you're doing)
Ginger tea -stronger
Ginger cookies
peppermint tea
chipped ice
plain saltines
there are these lollipops for prego girls...worth a try! if your nausea remains
rubbing belly with eucalyptis (not kidding)
incense -can't remember what scent...thinking jasmine
eat high protein all day, like almonds, peanut butter etc.
popsicles
avoid foods with a lot of fat or spices
avoid alcohol and caffeine
toasted bread
and yes...celery??ok those are some of the responses i remember getting.
i think some people even said lime or lemon juice but i can't say i'd try that. ALTHOUGH...the one thing i could tolerate was a limeade from sonic! go figure! so who knows.
Rx
Zofran
and good luck!
