I told him that the unconditional positive regard he has given and shown me in almost a year now, has helped me accept myself for who I really am without any masks. I told him that I have never received it before, and never knew I needed it even and it was a bonus I received in therapy. I told him even though I needed this, I don't need him so much now because I have internalized it within me. It is hard to explain, do any of you know what I mean?
I told him that I trusted I could tell him this without worrying that he would get weird by it. He was very touched that I told him.It was a moment I will never forget.
He looked over his notes from the past on me and we worked a little on ego strength EMDR therapy. But it didn't work for me very well. But we will try stage 2 in a future session.
I told him that since I see him every week and sometimes more, that I have had as many sessions with him in a year that I had with my old T in 2 /2 years. I believe it has made the world of difference.
I am feeling good today, I had a great workout in the morning and did the elliptical twice as long as I planned because I was talking to his girl I met. It felt so good. Well off to beddy bye.

Thanks for sharing. It's always a good feeling when you reach that point with your therapist. I'm happy for you.

So nice to see something positive with your therapy. He has been so good for you. Do things happen for a reason? Sometimes even though it hurts to think of how things turned out with your former T, it's maybe worked out for the best.
Good job!
