Hi Twinleaf,
You haven't posted in a while, but I just wanted to say hello in case you're still reading. You have a non-judging, but honest way about you, and I really miss reading your intelligent and thoughtful posts. I've actually written down some of your spot-on insights and discussed them with my therapist. Reading about every one's lives and their point of views have really helped me grow in therapy.I'm fairly new here (since last April I think) and don't post much so you probably don't recognize my name, but I'm the one that was fascinated by your post regarding "The Rupture and Repair of Cooperation of BPD" in the Science Magazine.
I hope all is well with you and therapy is "satisfying". Please post again when it's "right" for you - your warmth and insights are missed!
Take care,
Stellabystarlight

I haven't been reading lately, so I missed your wonderful message until just now. Thank you! I certainly remember you. I was fascinated by the intense, passionate relationship which had developed between you and your therapist, and was wondering whether you would find a good way to use it so as to get better. It looks as though you have.
The question about asking him to go with you to your mother's grave is fascinating, too. How to look at it- is it a benign boundary crossing which will deepen the therapy, or a boundary violation which which will complicate things with hard-to-handle transferences and counter-transferences? I think it could be either, depending on all the feelings you and he will be bringing to the experience. I hope you will let us know how it turns out.
I haven't been posting or reading lately because of the beginning of the school year, and also because my own therapy has deepened in a way that makes it hard to write about . So much of it concerns minute to minute feelings and thoughts about my analyst, which I am learning to express verbally as they occur. They are along the lines of "one of your socks is falling down", "I feel you stopped keeping me in mind just now", "I don't especially like that tie", "I wish you would kiss me"- well, you get the idea! He responds to everything (never rejecting or criticizing anything I say. It's almost impossible to say how moving and powerful these experiences are, even though they start with tiny mundane or fleeting thoughts. He did say, "I hope you have as intense an experience as possible" This seems to be happening for both of us!
This is the end of the thread.
