a wow day for me!!

Posted by mystickangaroo on September 24, 2010, at 8:04:31

Hey babblers I am so excited I needed to tell people who understand the wow factor of today!!!!

I had a cup of coffee with my T. In her office. And I was able to make some eye contact. And I was able to talk. ( when my mouth wasn't full of course!!) And get this I didn't vomit even though I wanted to afterwards.

We get to do it again next time. (The excitement is wearing off now...) It scares me silly to consume in front of her but we are making a safe place even safer so I can have a cup of coffee. Isn't therapy amazing! I am so grateful to my T who is taking time for me to be me and not judging me for it. I do feel a bit daft afterall a coffee is a coffee but boy oh boy it was one of the most powerful things I have done in therapy.

I am telling you all so I don't forget that this is a good thing. Yes the anxiety and all that will kick in but I know that this is a good thing.

I saw from your post in the other thread what a big step this was for you, and the many layers of meaning.

I think I do understand. There's a certain amount of vulnerability in it, and trust?

Thanks Dinah.

Trust and vulnerability. My two favourite words!!! Not.

Seeing the layers of meaning is not as good as I thought it would be. It stirs up lots of neediness and anxiety. That's why I posted to babble so that I would not deny the reality of what I did. Even though that is is exactly what I would like to do.

This is the end of the thread.
