My therapist is reading this. Should I be pleased? Is it something worth reading myself?

Love Dan Siegel! He was one of my trainers in my Fellowship program. Totally worth reading. He is an attachment therapist - knowing what I know about you, you'll agree with him.

Hmmm ... sounds interesting. I think we need a book swap. I want to raid Daisy's library. Next time I'm on your part of the world...

I told him that you really liked him! He's not familiar with attachment therapy and asked me about it. I'm not sure I encapsulated the concept very well but told him it might be described in the book.
Oddly enough, though he doesn't know about the theory, I think therapy with him has definitely worked as well as it has for me for the same reasons.
I downloaded a sample to my Kindle.

Wouldn't that be great! Although I haven't bought anything recently. I suspect there's something clinically relevant about that. :)

Now that I've reached that age where glasses are necessary, I find it more difficult to read. If I look away to think, everything is blurry. If the kids ask me a question, my focus is out-of-focus. So I've been reading less too and I miss it. I think I'm going to get progressive lenses ... although my husband hates his.

This looks really interesting. I just read the excerpt about the woman who couldn't connect to her children after a car accident. I might even buy it.

Oh. He wrote "parenting from the inside out". That book helped me when I was a new parent and surprised by the intensity of it all, unprepared for the PTSD flashbacks I would have.
I still keep that book out on my book shelves whereas many others have been sold to the used book shop or stored in the garage.

I can't seem to bring myself to read the sample. Resistance of some sort?

From Mindsight or the title I mentioned?
I can be very resistant re: reading. Maybe you will get to it. If it's mindsight, I did read some tepid to unfavorable reviews that much of it was case studies. Reading depends very much on timing for me. I may hear about a book, even purchase it, and it will sit for a long time. Then one day....
