I have a long-standing problem with poor social skills and social phobia. I improved 12 years ago when I went to a therapist who specialized in social phobia. But now I don't know how to find a therapist who is right for me. I have a great deal of depression and obsessive thoughts, too.

I bookmarked this post long ago, in case I ever needed to find a new therapist.
CBT is designed for some of the issues you mention, though some people find it a bit cold. However, each therapist is different. You just need to find one you feel comfortable with.
