I found this NYT article very interesting. Across the years I've attempted to express to those close to me this basic idea. I do want to say I am not a vetran.

I read that earlier today. My hunch is that more and more conditions considered "psychological" will turn out to be neurological. It seems that calling something "psychological" really means we don't understand the brain process yet.
I feel really bad for all the victims. Suffering, stigmatized as having psychological problems, and incurable. I wasn't really impressed with the measures that are being taken-- the red tags and all. They still don't know whether even one blast exposure creates long-term damage. Reminds me of the situation with pro football. There's little to be done short of eliminating the game, but nobody wants to consider *that*.

Regarding American football, I cringe when I think of the young guys deciding to play. I guess for some it is some kind of ticket to somewhere they want to go or leave. I am very much relieved my kid isn't interested.
