hi,
a close friend of mine just survived another suicide attempt. we're trying to find support for her in face-to-face life and online. anyone know of online support groups for single lesbian moms and/or lesbian women dealing w/suicide, anorexia, drinking, cutting?

> thanks for any help.The PFLAG idea is a good one - I happen to be an active member of the St. Paul / Minneapolis chapter and this is one of the reasons PFLAG exists. I would also suggest an organization in the Twin Cities known as Rainbow Families - GLBT parents raising children. If you need help contacting them, I could get you more information...

Great ideas--PFLAG and GLBT family organizations. Also, try women's bookstores for info, and the local university GLBT support services. Best wishes to all involved!

thanks...i was hoping for specific sites/boards on issues of suicide, alcoholism, anorexia, cutting for lesbians. my experience of p-flag is that they don't have resources specifically for that. she's not dealing with coming out any more. my hesitation is that groups like this aren't set up to address problems like hers, but are more general support groups around homophobia & heterosexism.
but i'll check out rainbow family folks--do you happen to have contact info for them, djr55409?
