Fashion for the depressed and manically depressed

Posted by Janice1 on November 28, 2000, at 18:05:08

This is a little frivolous, but hey! I just bought this beautifully designed, nylon bag today from a company named Lithium. They have their very large logo LITHIUM smeared across the front of the bag in bright red ink. Since I figure lithium has saved my life, I felt obliged to buy the bag ($50 US).

The company's from up here in Montreal (I'm not sure if they sell to the States). But if anyone is interested, you could try the Montreal yellow pages or a website (the woman at the store said they didn't have one yet, but would soon). The bag's nice on it's own, although I doubt I would have bought it without the company's logo. the company is called lithium manufacturing ...

Huh! That is odd, isn't it? Why do they call themselves that?

But enjoy the bag!!! You must have gotten a kick out of coming across it! (I would)

I saw one of these mini back-pack handbags with the logo "Lithium" in silvery metallic thread, over the weekend. I was going to ask the young woman where she got it, but as she was sitting in a curtained cubicle in the ER, and I was there to support my sister who thought she was having a heart-attack (at the age of 18 no-less) I didn't get the opportunity. By the time the Doc's had finished checking my sister's heart, the young woman with the Lithium bag was gone :-(

But the bag was so cool, it was made of this shimmery, silky grayish (with undertones of rose) synthetic material with Lithium piped in either a darker or lighter colored silvery-gray threading.

> yes, I've seen that one dove. I believe it's one of this season's bag. Noa, I have no idea why they call themselves Lithium - whether it has anything to do with manic depression. I was thrilled to find it, especially since only I will know the real significance of the bag for me.

I was just waiting for the federal election to be over before going to Montreal to visit family (too emotionally ugly atmosphere in that province prior to elections). Maybe when I am there, I'll check the company out. Well, thanks dove, at least we know they sell to the States, and you're right, they are cool. Your sister sounds like she's one of us! poor thing.

take care you two,
love Janice

Perhaps it refers to lithium batteries--you know, for cell phones and such?
