Can't sleep. Need to sleep. My brain won't shut up though. I"m having bad anxiety and my mind is racing. Just want to shut off and sleep. Damn, i hate this.
Hope you all are dreaming peacefully.

Hey Tina -
I've had the same problem, off and on, for a long time. This may sound goofy, but here's what has helped the most - a mantra that a yoga-loving friend taught me.
When I breathe in, I say "Sah-tah"
When I breathe out, I say "Nah-mah"Now, I am an excessively non-new agey type gal, but what the above does is simply get in the way of all those worried words running through my head. It took me a little while to get the hang of it, but it's helped a lot. Especially since I realized that worry was making things worse - my gut-level belief had been that somehow it was protective. It wasn't.
Hope you find relief soon,
mary

Uh-oh, Tina. I remember you had a bad bout of insomnia last year, I don't remember exactly when.
Did you ever figure that one out?
I like Mary's breathing advice.
