Hi Allison,
Was just thinking about you. How's the Neurontin working out? I think the last time we talked your doc was getting ready to up your dose a bit?
My meds are still working great (he says while knocking on every piece of wood within reach). Now if I could just get everybody at work to act exactly the way I wanted, life would be perfect....almost :)

Greg,
Thanks for asking. I'm really, really glad to hear you're doing well. I'll knock on wood over here for you, too.
Oh, would that I could do the same thing at work! Ugh! There's this arrogant new guy in the office who is trying to take everything over. Grrrrr.
The Neurontin got upped about 6 weeks ago or maybe a little more. It with the Wellbutrin helped, but weren't doing the job completely. I was still irritable, so my pdoc added Celexa. I'm just finishing my 3rd week on 10mg, which was supposed to be a starting dose. I was supposed to be on 20mg two weeks ago. It makes me so fatigued that I can't take more than 10, although the fatigue seems to be not as severe. It's messing up my sleep though, which isn't good (keep waking up at 4 am and not being able to go back to sleep). I am waiting for/hoping for these *&%$@# side effects to wear off. Otherwise, I fear I'll be put on an MAOI. I see him again tomorrow.
I had a pretty bad day today. I discovered one of my 3 cats dead in my house this morning. He was only 6. It was quite a shock. The vet thinks it was a heart condition and he dropped dead. It was horrible trying to pick his stiff body up off the living room floor. Went into work late. I couldn't imagine staying home and dwelling on it, but was fairly useless. One thing I have noticed about this Celexa is that things that used to get my goose don't anymore (my eccentric dad is a good example). However, I have not been able to cry much either today, and am wondering if I am becoming emotionless (again) -- this time via Celexa.
Anyway, it was nice of you to ask. (I hope I haven't blabbed on too much.) Take care and give my best to Cam.
Sincerely,
Allison

Allison,
Sorry to hear about your cat, I know how tough it is when we lose something or someone that is very close to our hearts. My deepest sympathies are with you. I haven't had the greatest luck with animals as an adult, but had a tabby cat named Tiger as a kid and remember how devastated I was when he died.
I was wondering if you had any thoughts about the Wellbutrin possibly causing any of your irritability? When I took WB for the first time, it made me feel energized and gave me a sense of well-being. But the second time, all it did was left me feeling irritable and testy as hell. At Cam's suggestion, I'm going to ask my psych to try me on Adderall at my next visit, hopefully that will help with my fatigue. He has explained to me (in layman's terms thankfully) how the Neurontin affects the electrical impulses in the brain and I think I'm actually starting to understand it all. Maybe I'll be an expert someday...not.
Please let me know how the meds are working for you from time to time. I feel like we have this psychic-Neurontin bond thing going on....
Hugs,
GregI'll be sure to send your best to Cam. I wish you'd join Haven and drop in for chat tonight. If you're interested, let me know.

Greg,
Re my cat: Thanks. I still don't think it's hit me. I don't feel much of anything.
> >I was wondering if you had any thoughts about the Wellbutrin possibly causing any of your irritability?
Good question. I dunno. WB made me irritable when I first started taking it and every time the dose was increased, but it eventually wore off after a couple of weeks. The Neurontin was supposed to help fix that, in addition to helping with the sleep. So you're switching to Adderall, keeping the Neurontin, right? I couldn't bear to lose a brother in Neurontin after all of this bonding!
I never had much trouble with fatigue, just insomnia. Only Celexa has made me fatigued, but I was surprised to find today after doubling the dose that I wasn't knocked out like last time. Go figure. I did get irritable at the end of the day, but it was a long day...
It gets so frustrating. Every time my pdoc and I talk about possible reasons for this symptom or that, it always seems that there could be 3 or 4 reasons and I never know which one. I've taken to refusing to guess anymore, which irritates my pdoc.

I'm there. Great photos, by the way.Talk to you soon.
