Eating Worms

Posted by Lisa Simpson on February 26, 2001, at 8:41:47

This is going to be a silly question, but when I was a little girl, I used to know a song. It's been going thru my head lately, you know like they do, over and over again and driving me mad, because I can't remember the fourth line properly... can anyone help me?

Here it is:

"Nobody loves me
Everybody hates me
I'm going to eat some worms
Long thin skinny ones... ????
Itsy bitsy teeny weeny worms."

Thanks!

Lisa

I learnt

Nobody loves me
Everybody hates me
Think I'm gonna eat some worms
Big ones, small ones, fat ones, skinny ones,
Itsy bitsy teeny weeny worms.

:)

Was there ever anything in there to do with eating worms and caterpillars, caterpillars and worms? That rings a bell, but I don't remember anything else.

Hi Rach - that certainly sounds like it. (Unless anyone else knows better, that is...!)

Thanks, both, for replying!

Nah, I think Rach is right - her version sounds more like it.

Anyhow, how are you feeling today - any better? What part of the UK do you live in? I am in Surrey.

Please take care.

I was just singing it at work the other day *laughing*

Everybody hates me
Nobody loves me
Think I'll go eat worms

Long skinny slimey ones
Short fat juicy ones
Itsy bitsy fuzzy wuzzy worms

Down goes the first one
Down goes the second one
Oh how they wiggle and squirm
Long skinny slimey ones
Short fat juicy ones
Itsy bitsy fuzzy wuzzy worms

Nobody hates me
Everbody loves me
Why'd I eat those worms?
Long skinny slimey ones
Short fat juicy ones
Itsy bitsy fuzzy wuzzy worms.

Up comes the first one
Up comes the second one
Ewww how they wiggle and squirm
Long skinny slimey ones
Shorty fat juicy ones
Itsy bitsy fuzzy wuzzy worms.

Nobody likes me
Everybody hates me
I'm gonna go eat worms
Little bitty skinny ones
Big fat juicy ones
See how they wiggle and squirm
Bite their heads off
Suck the juices
Throw the skins away
Isn't that a tasty dish
For 15 times a day?
* * * *

I know...gross!

I know a slightly different version - believe it
or not my husband teaches me these songs in my adulthood.

Nobody likes me
Everybody hates me
Think I'll eat some worms
Fat one skinny ones
Little itty bitty ones
Look out! the big ones squirm
Bite their heads off
suck their juices
throw their skins away
Nobody likes me
Everybody hates me
Worms three times a day

Lisa; I learned this when I was a kid. Here goes:

Nobody likes me,
Everybody hates me,
I guess I'll go eat some worms..
Great big fat one, itty bitty skinny ones,
see how the little ones squitm!

2nd vs:
First you bite off their heads,
and slurp the juice,
and throw the skins away.
No one knows
how a girl scout grows
on three worms a day !

Kind of gross, but kids like those kind of songs,

This is a good case of the game we used to play when one person would whisper into someones ear & by the tenth person it is changed. Different versions of a cool kids song.Ugenia Kay

Thanks everyone for all your posts to this slimey thread. I still think Rach's version is the closest to the one I learnt as a child. I should think it's a bit like swallowing oysters except for the fact they move ('scuse me while I go and throw up...)
