Who cares, if you dont like someones post or the website they recommend then dont read there post and dont go to the website, I hate it when I see people get upset over something like this, this is the internet, anybody in the whole world can post anything they desire or recommend you to go to any website they desire, deal with it. Censorship is sometimes nessesary in extreme cases but I dont think this is a big deal. They dont even have the link in hypertext so you can just click on it. I wouldnt even spend the time copying and pasteing to my address box on my browser, and I dont think too many people are going to even bother looking at the website. I am a strong believer in freedom, and I think freedom of speach is very important, this world already has enough rules and regulations and lack of freedom. Lets not bring it to the internet. Have I made my point yet? I hope so. I am not trying to pick a fight or cause trouble here I just felt the need to respond to this and make my opinion heard.

How did you know I was upset, I just asked Dr. Bob to look at something. The rules of the list supercede the right to free speech. You have the absolute right to free speech in a public place but this is not public, it is owned by Dr Bob.

You might want to educate me on the rules of the list because I have no idea what your talking about. It doesnt matter if dr.bob owns this website or not, this website is on the internet and he has made it possible for anyone to post anything they want here, this website is a public place, it is clear what you want to happen, you want this post censored, and you want dr.bob to censor it. I am sure dr.bob reads all posts on his website if you ask him to or not.

Adams,

At the top of this webpage it clearly states: "This is a message board for mutual support and education..." There is nothing supportive in the goofy website that lumtur has cited. Unlike you I did cut and paste and take a look at the website, buddy is promoting and it's one wierd and offensive place, as I gathered it might be by the chippy tone of lumtur's post. The one image I recall seemed to be a deificaton of Charles Manson as sane - now that is offensive, no matter how liberal you are unless you are a total nutbar yourself, in which case you might revel at such a site.

I am no fan of the excesses of some so called heath care professionals but buddie's site goes too far. And so do you with your simplistic defence of free speech. There are limits and people cannot post whatever they feel free to on any site they chose. That's called discretion. Try it!

Nope. The internet is privatly owned, not publicly. Dr. Bob PAYS for this site, owns it, and sets the rules.

If you support free speech, shouldn't you support Pat's right to speak freely?

Just a thought....

Peace

we have laws against racial slurs, etc. I'm not even bothering to check the site, I figure a hit would just boost the place. I'm assuming that the site is derogatory towards mental health issues.

However, I've never bought in to the argument that he didn't have the right to block. Like dj I think we're all asked to use good discretion about what we post. It's part of what makes me feel most of the time like this is a safe environment for me. There's nothing wrong with disagreeing, but I thought your response to pat was a little "in your face." I may have come off a little harsh, but theres just some things that you will have to deal with, you have to deal with the occasional post that you dont like without asking dr.bob to remove it. You have to be able to deal with posts from people like me who are emotionaly unstable, you know things could be a lot worse on this forum, there could be crazy fools completely trashing this place with all kinds of terrible posts, you cant expect perfection. I am sorry I said anything at all.

is worse than being disagreed with. I hadn't completely disagreed with your post, but with the original one. I think we're able to have better discussions when we aren't scared of being flamed for our opinions. That's what makes this group should a good group to post with! :)

Thanks for calling my attention to this. But remember, discussion about policies about posting should now go to Psycho-Babble Administration. Thanks,
