Cut

I've been trying to find an authour's name on the web. I think her name is Patricia Cormick or McCormick. Anyway I haven't found her yet! But I did find this book called cut. Here is an excerpt from the web site:
Cut examines a frightening new trend of self-expression among over- stressed, teenage girls. It tempers grief with the promise of recovery, pain with the heeling power of redemptive love. If you've ever felt a pain so great it leaves you numb and utterly speechless, Cut is a book you may read in one sitting -- a story you'll understand.

Found it! I was looking for the wrong name. The author is Patricia Cornwell. Her main character is a woman, well educated, career, nice house, etc. Each book is a new story but there are references to previous cases, so you may want to start with the first one. Strong female role model!

I agree, I've read them all! Authors can't keep up with me.

I started with V.C. Andrews-read 'em all.

Switched to Dean Koontz-read 'em all, plus the new V.C. Andrews.

Moved to Patricia Cornwell, read all of those too, while reading the new releases of Andrews and Koontz.

Then to Jonathan Kellerman read all of those plus new releases of all the others, now searching for another Author.

My spelling is wrong. She wrote Valley of the Dolls. She has passed away, but my mom read her books and I use to sneak them. Really enjoyed them then!
