It must be Saturday again ...

Posted by Willow on August 18, 2001, at 16:36:25

I slept around the clock and figured the board would be swamped with new threads. Well guess who was wrong again?

These definitions I learnt from Mighty Mouse:

1. AQUADEXTROUS (ak wa deks' trus) adj. Possessing the ability to turn the bathtub faucet on and off with your toes.

2. CARPERPETUATION (kar' pur pet u a shun) n. The act, when vacuuming, of running over a string or a piece of lint at least a dozen times, reaching
over and picking it up, examining it, then putting it back down to give the vacuum one more chance.

3. DISCONFECT (dis kon fekt') v. To sterilize the piece of candy you dropped on the floor by blowing on it, assuming this will somehow 'remove' all the germs.

4. ELBONICS (el bon' iks) n. The actions of two people maneuvering for one armrest in a movie theater(airplane).

5. FRUST (frust) n. The small line of debris that refuses to be swept onto the dust pan and keep backing a person across the room until he finally decides to give up and sweep it under the rug.

6. LACTOMANGULATION (lak' to man guy lay' shun) n. Manhandling the "open here" spout on a milk container so badly that one has to resort to the'illegal' side.

7. PEPPIER (pehp ee ay') n. The waiter at a fancy restaurant whose sole purpose seems to be walking around asking diners if they want ground pepper.

8. PHONESIA (fo nee' zhuh) n. The affliction of dialing a phone number and forgetting whom you were calling just as they answer.

9. PUPKUS (pup'kus) n. The moist residue left on a window after a dog presses its nose to it.

10. TELECRASTINATION (tel e kras tin ay' shun) n. The act of always letting the phone ring at least twice before you pick it up, even when you're only six inches away.

Willow,

You are so funny! I love those definitions. Like you, I thought that there would be much more posts now, oh well, back to reality.

I think we need to rearrange people's days -- Saturdays are when I need you guys the most, and you all are off busy with your families. So new rule -- you must ignore your family and spend more time with me. < g >

Willow -- I loved all of your and Mighty Mouse's definitions. But of course my favorite has to be:

> 9. PUPKUS (pup'kus) n. The moist residue left on a window after a dog presses its nose to it.

since I just finished cleaning my glass door!

Hi everybody,

Thanks to my son for that list...I kept chuckling and chuckling, he jumped, because he hadn't heard me laugh in a long time.

I will be sure and check in on the weekends, I just figured EVERYBODY ELSE would be busy...Oh, well.

I am feeling better this afternoon, but this am and up til my rest a two was rough. I am trying something I think I picked up from akc & mila, about simplifying thought and being resiliant. Even if my mind is going in spastic circles, I need to hold on to one thing. or if I am feeling very hopeless, do do just one thing, just one. just one.

So I signed on and am saying hello.

Mighty Mouse is grounded today, so no body gets saved today, his cape is at the cleaners.

It must of been mila -- it sounds like a great philosophy, but I sure don't practice it!

Doesn't it feel great not being everyone's savior?

Just gave the pup a bath and isn't he suppose to smell good? Now he just smells like a wet dog. I just opened a drive thru wash system and baptismal at my beach. I will either spray you with soap or holy water and then donk you. Breeze dry, and ready to go.
