Almost every self-help book I've ever read will start out with the edict that if you don't have a map, you'll never get to where you want to go. This is to inspire you to set goals in your life so you don't just wander around aimlessly.
Usually I'm too horrified to even consider this. It would mean getting rid of nearly everything I own, changing everything about my life, and crawling out of one's rut is a terrifying thing.
However, since we are just ruminating here among friends that will hold you to nothing...
I would sell everything and buy a little house somewhere on the beach on the Gulf Coast. I would decorate it in Shabby Chic and set up my easel on the sand in the beach and paint sunrises and sunsets. I would learn how to dive and pet dolphins and sail boats.
That's all I want.

I wouldn't move. I like the city I live in. But I sure would change careers. I would be helping folks -- maybe like that show, the Guardian. Actually, if I had to choose this moment, I probably would help people get social security disability, especially mental disability cases. I would also lose weight. I would keep my house clean. I would watch less TV and read more books. I would be part of this community, not just someone who lives here.

I would like to be well enough to count on, so I could go visit my son in Japan next year.
I want to learn Kanji and speak some japanese
I would like to be spontanious again and at the drop of a hat, go where ever I wanted. I would travel at the speed of light
I would live where I live, but I would go places and stay there for a year, like San Francisco, New York, Kansas City, Cinncinati, Chicago, Seattle, San Diego, all the National Parks and Italy and England and learn all about them and ride the buses and visit all the museums. and sketch and paint and send the paintings back to a warehouse where they would be stored, just to look at when I get back.
Never get a cold, or be physically sick.
come up with a cure for what ails, you and you and you and you and give it away for free on the condition that you do somethings for others
and love my husband more than he loves me.
mouse taking the opportunity to be selfish.
