Wellbutrin effects?

Posted by MarthaM on January 7, 2002, at 6:32:30

Hi,
I just was switched over from Sarafem to Wellbutrin. I was off the Sarafem for a week, and it was a terrible week! (There's got to be an easier way than to quit cold turkey!)

I've started taking the Wellbutrin just 2 days ago and after 2 tablets I swear I'm feeling an effect. Not so much emotionally, for the depression, but rather with my energy levels.

It's almost like it's taking all my nervous energy I have all the time and turned it into "time release". It's like it keeps my high strung energy on an even keel throughout the day rather than my typical bursts of high energy - like Taz on the cartoons, then hitting burnout.

Could this be possible after just being on the tablet for 2 days? Cause if so I could reall grow to like this!!!

Anyone out there have the same situation? I'd love to know more.

Thanks,
MarthaM

I was wondering if that could be possible? Doc says it takes a good month in the system before I see any effects.

MarthaM,
From my own limited experience and what I've frequently read it's not unusual for a psychotropic medicines to have an effect right away. However, that effect is often not the same as the long term effect.
You might try posting this question on the Psycho-Babble board (as opposed to Psyco Social Babble) which is devoted to medication. You might get more answers there. But please continue to visit here as well.

Martha,
I was on Wellbutrin for a while and it had some quick responses as well. However, one of the things it did do to me was it caused holucinations both audible and visual. They quickly took me off of it once that happened. Anyhow that is one thing to watch out for. Hope this might have helped.
