That's weird! Those colours & patterns in the photo would only jar & grate on my nerves. It looks horrible - pattern & colours.
Jane, I really do believe colours make a huge difference in the way we feel but like meds, I think most reactions are very individual. I prefer surrounding myself with greens & some touches of warm & bright colours. Much like what being outside is like in summer.
Not owning my own place but only renting, I don't have a big choice, but I'd love to have a grass green carpet & paint the walls like outdoor murals. But then, I'm a nature nut.
I just looked at that photo one more time & shook my head. I'd love to hear what others think of it. What was your opinion of it?

Here's some practical advice on painting murals in rentals: use acrylics instead of oils. In my experience, Benjamin Moore makes the best one-coat paint when you must cover a wall mural. If the color still leaks through, paint a coat of Kilz over the color before re-painting. And don't paint any kind of tile, not under any circumstances. I did this in a rental to cover some really ugly bathroom tile and the landlord had a hemmorage. She made me scrape it off before my deposit was returned, which was hard and messy. Just passing on experience.
