Kristi - where are you?

Posted by mair on January 11, 2002, at 7:50:18

Kristi - maybe I haven't been paying enough attention, but it seems like you haven't been around much. Are you lurking? Are you just doing so well that you don't need this site for awhile? Are you over your mono? Are people in Las Vegas still buying drinks? Please just let us know that you're okay if you see this message.

Hi mair......
I'm really really touched that you asked about me.
Thanks for that little uplift..... been feeling kinda down lately.
To answer your question... i've still been around, just lurking, never feeling like I can give anyone any worthwile advice since I can't get myself together.. but I'm still always wondering how you all are doing.
Yep... still have the mono... and the medical stuff just keeps on piling up. Lifes just..... well..... I guess it's just life.
Thanks for asking about me..... I'm ok...... you put a smile on my face for remembering me.
Luv, Kristi

Kristi - I'm sorry to hear you're not doing very well. Sometimes it seems like people disappear either because they're in an upswing or a downswing - if the latter, they maybe lurk like you. I well know that feeling of not being able to post because you can't imagine having anything to say that might help anyone. Sometimes I get so depressed that I can't quite put words in a sequence that makes sense to me. Just remember, the Board involves giving and taking - but mostly over time, not all at once. Sometimes it's just your turn to be a recipient of support without being able to offer any in return.

Has mono affected your work schedule? Are you looking at procedure/operation #19 or are you still healing from the last. No matter how painful, please let us know.

Hi Mair........ Thank you so much for understanding, and your concern. My psb days have been basically breezing over the posts, keeping in check how everyone is doing. I think even when I'm well..... I'll still be curious and wondering how everyone is. I just hope I can someday be helpful to others.... as far as advice, etc. I just can't take care of myself right now..... I don't feel I have the right. But... on an upside, I am starting to feel a little better altho my bloodwork came back a little worse. Seems like nightime is when I have my energy.

I finally just took off a week from work..... but due back tomarrow. I just kept getting lectured on how if I continue to work.. I will continue to get worse. But...... bills have a way of piling up!!!!!
No..... mores surgeries..... at least for a while. The doc's think that why I coninue to get these infections(including the mono) is because of the pieces of cloth still stuck to my sternum and muscles...... my pdoc said I can possibly be fighting an infection the rest of my life. Lovely..... but I'll live with it. I do intend on having some sort of reconstructive surgery... but it will be years down the road.
So..... to sum up, I'm doing ok... not great, but ok. Staying alive although some days I would rather not......... and we can all relate to that one I'm sure.
Again, thanks for checking on me. And my dear, how are you????????????????????????????????

Take care, Kristi
