I guess I'm not very observant but I just realized that when you post a message you can choose which language you want it to post in. I just think that's a litte weird. I mean, if I had chosen Russian, how many here would know what I was saying??? Or does it translate??? What's the point of the language choice????
Just a dumb, stupid observation to pass away a couple of minutes. :)

The way you enter a post is the way it's posted. The language indicator doesn't affect that, it just tells the server what language you're posting in (it can't figure it out itself).
Translation is an option for the *reader*. Based on the language the post is in, the reader can choose to translate it into other languages. It's a program that does the translating, so it's far from perfect, but IMO it's better than nothing.
