I started last year on the 4th of July, and will try to go tomorrow. There's a great chain of lakes in my town. I love the sound of the paddle moving through the water; the placid feeling I have while floating.
So far I've only done flatwater, but someday I'd really love to go whitewater kayaking -- in a careful, controlled way, if possible. :D

Went once, pretty cool. . .but I was on a raft, and thought we had a better trip than the kayakers. Just MHO, but was a little more laid back, so you could enjoy the river. Still plenty interesting on the rapids! But the kayakers were *continually* dumped. .Zo
