Dreamer, I think you should give serious consideration to the Effexor possibility and talk to your pdoc about it. It definitely made my self injury urges worse. I spent most of my energy last week fighting them. I think Effexor might not be very good for people inclined to mania or hypomania. Just my experience mind you.
And then that d*%# sexuality thing. The hypomania causes the hypersexuality, but coupled with the anorgasmia caused by the effexor! Well it's more than a soul should have to bear.
Oops, I wonder if this will be redirected to meds.

Hi Dinah..
Well I'm only on 150 mg effexor at the moment instead of 225..with no problem so far
I don't get inorgasma..just after orgasm a temporary calm until an hour or so ...
Without effexor , I'm really nuts.. but it only deals with anxiety not depression..
I just have to get through this bad period..see my doc in August..and ..maybe go for the old stabilisers with AD properties...
