Depression chat and support at...

Posted by jay on August 29, 2002, at 16:50:58

Hey Folks:

Don't know if any/many of you go to this, but there is a depression live chat/support group (with voice if wish) on Yahoo. Try going here:
http://chat.yahoo.com/c/roomlist.html?.rmcat=1600060813 (copy it all into your browser...and pick 'Depression support')

Believe me...it actually feels good to see others in our similar situations typing and speaking live. Even if you just sit and watch for awhile. It really does seem to take away a bit of that lonliness.

BTW..I go on as jay_ghostrider

Hey Jay, I've seen you there! For a few months earlier this year I went to Yahoo's Depression Support rooms semi-regularly. I often found it to be supportive and helpful, and sometimes even a lot of fun. But I need to caution all of you, especially those who are the extra-sensitive types. These rooms can occasionally get raunchy or hostile. I finally quit going there even though I'd really enjoyed it in the past because of the few nasty jerks who would show up now and then and start harassing people. I do go back every so often because it was interesting, fun, and occasionally a great source of support. Another plus is that there are always people there even in the middle of the night. If any of you decide to check it out I recommend choosing one of the smaller rooms, since there are several and the bigger ones can be overwhelming at first. And remember that the ignore button is a great feature.

Psychobabble Open is my chat room of choice these days and I would encourage anyone interested to pop in there too.

Ya..but there is hardly anyone there! (Atleast everytime I go on.) Maybe we should all schedule an hour to meet or something.

But...even married women have to expect that they will get hit on...espcially at 32, heck it seems like I am the only UNMARRIED one (ok..or two..or three..) alive..hehe.

I put much of it in a post below...I think I am a dang good writer. Of course I left out a few details...like my child died..my common-law partner died...and heck even our dog died last year. Kinda sounds like a bad country song, eh?..heh.
