bitter medicine

well I've figured out, some things I don't like doing help me to feel a bit better if I stick with them. Taking SSRIs (has worked occasionally), exercise, vitamins, nutrition.

And the latest discovery - DOing hard stuff, like making phone calls and asking for resume help.

I hate this. But it looks like stepping into the fear is the fastest way to feeling better.

SSSSCCCCCCCRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAMMMMMM!!!!!!!

I want to feel better but I have so much anxiety and am so afraid of screwing up.

I feel like working hard to get better eliminates all outside help. If I'm not falling down in ditches, I look like I'm going to make it okay on my own. I haven't used depression and anxiety as an attention-getter - if I'd been playing that game, I'd have given up long ago.

rambly but desperate and angry,

M

Bravo, M, that's GREAT!

I often feel the same way. The hardest part is getting started, and the second hardest is asking for help. OK, maybe the other way around.... Once over those. though, everything else is a snap.

Now, don't let me slow you down. You're on a roll, so keep going!

Ted

A good friend of mine (who is actually the most popular drummer in the world..but I saaaaz no more:-) said that one of the nicest things you can do is to let others do nice things for you.

So, without abusing it, take advantage of everyone from family to even some odd friend. Good for them...good for you. Even if you make phonecalls out of the blue and ask for help...or just ask people if you can 'delegate' a responsibility of yours too them (again, not going overboard)...damn it works charms.

We've become too individualistic here in N. America, and think it's 'polite' to decline help. Bullhooey!! (Nice word, eh?..heh)Kindness is contagious...and we need a hell of a lot more of it!

Anyhow...enough of my sermon :-)

Peace,
Jay
