Oh I know, you'll think space aliens have kidnapped me and replaced me with an optimistic person, but... why not this weekend? I'll take tiny steps in good directions, and believe that maybe, just maybe, I can get out of this rut. Why not? Tiny steps lead to more tiny steps, and eventually... CHANGE.

It can be done, you are absolutely right. And this weekend is a great time to start.
Best of luck, and if ever you need motivation, make sure you return to your message to recapture that fantastic frame of mind.
Say hi to the alien's for me, too.

And stay away from that dang lawn, it'll be fine.

I told myself I wanted to really live
Despite fears of the future, the past
I started living the day I told
my negative thoughts to kiss my ass.

One day I'm going to learn to live by those words.

Yes Tabitha! Go for it! Even a tiny change can help a lot.

You have the right idea, and that is half the battle: small steps. The hare may be more glamorous, but the tortoise - slow, steady, patient, insistent - gets the goal. Hang in there, and give a curled lip to any and all impatient naysayers.
When I falter, as I sometimes do, I like to think of two apothegms: an old Italian proverb, "You cannot make your life longer, so you must make it deeper." And, by E.M. Barrett: "The only difference between a rut and a grave is the depth."
Best regards,
Mr Beev

I feel discombobulated, and tired from the effort of not thinking my usual thoughts. Or maybe I'm just tired from hacking down the thorny vine that was taking over my driveway. That thorny vine may have been the physical manifestation of my bad habits, taking over slowly, twining & twisting into an impenetrable and well-defended mass.

With both the vines and the thoughts and habits. Stubborn things aren't they?
