Hardly any sex drive

Posted by Kelli on October 26, 2002, at 11:13:26

I have only been married for 8 months and I have no sex drive. This drive my husband crazy. It seems like he thinks about it and wants it everyday. Whereas it is NEVER on my mind (execpt at times when it is not at all possible to have sex.) Does anyone have any ideas on how to increase my sex drive?

I haven't been on the board in months, so I'm not familiar with your history. But are you on any antidepressants? If so, which ones? It seems no matter what SSRI I get on, it lowers my sex drive to where I almost have NO interest at all!!

Well..I am no expert...but maybe it is time to get creative. I don't want to embarass you...but what about some sexual 'playing'? There are many great books out there on how to 'spice up' your sex life. Go 'parking'...role-play...get some body paint and all sorts of lotions and creams and stuff..buy some, er, 'toys'...get some sexy underwear...learn the art of 'stimulating' yourself.

Plus, sex is an EXCELLENT antidepressant. Feel liberated about your sexuality. If there are further issues...say involving abuse..then best to see a counsellor, as you would need some serious help and guidance. Otherwise..sex between two loving people can be just unbelievable..(and even not so loving..sometimes pure lust is fun too..;-)..as long as it is done with responsibility.

Best wishes..please keep us posted on how you make out..

If all else fails..there is always Viagra(sp?) It is said to work just as well on women, as it stimulates blood flow to the clitoris. Your Hubby better watch out then!!!..hehe.

P.S.S. If you want some cluse and tips as to what turn men on..please ask. I have a bit of 'formal' and of course, 'informal' education in this area. :-) (I taught a sex ed class to troubled kids...and of course I have my own personal experience..lol! ;-)
