I had a ticket ,airfare paid , all packed and ready to go ..went to the airport and got _____ing rejected because of a stupid adolesent charge for possession of a narcotic.in 1973..shite Im 46 visiting my brother is wrecked ..my brother lives in Florida and I have visited the US (not counting, at least 50 times or more) and have never been bothered ..I lost a whole week of holidays and fun down south with a new friend and my brother ..this really sucks ..they blamed checking into my back ground on 9-11..I lost the airfare because of these terrorist..man am i ever ***NUKED *** over this ...dam I was a kid when this happened ..whats the problem ..I have never been in trouble with the law and have never broken a law since ...I served time and got beat up while I was there ..why do I have to suffer almost 30 years later ..the US laws suck and now anyone that I may meet in The US I can't visit...What is wrong with this, what did I do ,,Ipartied as a teenager and learned real young that doing drugs was not acceptable in society..so I quit ...shit I didn't stab anyone , or shot anyone, blow up a bank ..I just did what the curious teen did back in the early seventies..What did I do ..never hurt anyone sitting in the basement with friends laughing on mushrooms and peeking on micro-dot..what the heck ..I could have been part of a gang called the Mini Mafia, Satins Choice, Paradice Riders, Black Diamond Riders, Red Devils..instead I chose to be natural and free .. one of the nicest people that I have met in my life on cyber space who I care about and was suppose to meet has been been let down as well ...man do I ever feel bitter towards the coustums security at the Canadian border..have you ever heard of a Canadian blowing up a US building , Robbinig and killing people in That dang country ...*NEVER* ..what is wrong with this darn country ..They say Freedom for all and yet they take freedom from those who live freely..I am really UPSET ...

I am really sorry about what happened to you and it is not fair.
Nor is it fair to the hundereds of people who, if lucky, were killed instantally and if not, died slowly at the WTC. All because of a loose border,
INS that has not a clue, etc.So we have to tighten the borders and come up with some system. No one questions that at present the system sucks. The borders we tottally open and now they are not. Some people cannot take their trips. Tuff.
Why did you assume that because you got through in the past that it would be the same at present.
Here in the US the news makes it clear the border and traveling will mean more hassle. Are citizens
of others countries told the same ?

I'm a bit confused - couldn't figure out if this post was from Robin (like it looked like) or from Phil.
ANYway - I am really disappointed to hear that you were turned back at the border. I live in Ontario, Canada. I do believe that controls at the border need to be more detailed than they were before, but give me a break!
ONE drug charge back in 1973!!! Big deal! I find it shocking that you'd be turned back - TURNED BACK -because of that!
An adult with one charge decades ago.....does this sound like Public Enemy #1??
I know some people will say, "Well, this is the price we all have to pay for our safety, now that terrorism is a problem" - but, you know what??? This certainly ISN'T the price! This sounds like security guards mis-using their authority to the "nth" degree!
It is nothing short of ludicrous!
What a ridiculous & very very sad thing to happen. You certainly have my sympathies.

Thanks Kath ..thats water under the bridge now and now I will have to go through the system again and the cost is unreal to enter the US. Yes it does suck ..but the positive side is my neighbours who are my brothers and sisters are going to be safe and that is what counts to me ..My brother and friends in the future will have to make different plans ...So Sad though seeing as I would give my life for North America protecting the children and women of this nation..
