So I called my crazy old GP today, and by the way, he has no social skills, hardly can say bye politely... actually, he can't. anyway...
He said my blood test was fine, except my H. Pylori was off. Knowing what that means, I probably make have an ulcer or at risk for developing one, so I'll have to get more tests, he said, to see if the test was accurate, and so on. Well, this would explain why I've felt stomach upset off and on since 14 (I'm 19 now).
So I see him 12/5. Mind you, to get more tests, not treatment... treatment will probably be a few weeks following this. And I still need a refill on my dry mouth med, since my last GP gave it to me without a refill and it'll run out in a week. But oh well. I'm not even sure if he'll give me this dry mouth med, since he's both never heard of it and is in a rush to "see what we can do to get you off all these medications." Yeah, I'd love to too. Re-wire my endocrine glands so I make saliva while I'm on adderall, re-wire my brain so I don't need Adderall, and while you're at it figure out how my GABA is working, fix that, and then we can say adios to Effexor.
Geez. If a doctor can't script me, what good is he? I'm pretty sure I will switch docs, as hard as it is for passive me to do, but I at least need to wait until 12/5 to do this. Geez. Awe! I have a PPO, so technically I can see whoever I want, and my insurance doesn't even care about knowing who my GP is... maybe I should just book a new doc now while I wait... oh, wait, I think I just solved my problem. Woop-ee!

From what you tell us of his manner, he seems to be more than a bit unorthodox.

Let me know if a well intentioned kick in the pants will help. I can be a wonderful nag.

Well, I just FAX'd over a release form and a statement saying to cancel my future appointment with my GP. He'll forward the medical records to my new doc, which I'm now scheduled to see.
It just so happens this new doc is in the floor below this doc, so getting my records will be a cinch for them.
And I did it all via FAX, since the big thing that's needed anyway is to sign a release form.
So now I have a Harvard med-grad, who graduated in '98. She's a woman in her mid-30's, and no malpractice payouts are on her record. I suppose she can't be worse than Mr. Dianetics... lol
